The SET Urology Programme commenced in 2008. As such, the terminology for referring to urology trainees and their training years has changed. SET Urology is a minimum of six year as outlined below:
SET 1 - Introduction to surgical training
SET 2 - Surgery in general to acquire more advanced surgical skills
SET 3 - 1st year of clinical urology training
SET 4 - 2nd year of clinical urology training
SET 5 - 3rd year of clinical urology training
SET 6 - 4th year of clinical urology training (fellowship year)

Compulsory Exams and Courses
Every urology trainee must complete the following before the end of the relevent SET training year:
SET 1 - BSE, OSCE, ASSET, and CCrISP
SET 2 - EMST
SET 3 - CLEAR Course
Note - The Australasian Urological Foundation generously refunds the CLEAR course fee to all who undertake the course while a SET Urology trainee.
