 Waitemata DHB serves the largest District Health Board population in New Zealand. As a major provider of healthcare services in the Northern and Western Districts of Auckland it has experienced extraordinary growth in specialty secondary services.


This Fellowship is available in December 2008, for a 12 month term and applications from interested surgeons are invited.  You will take responsibility for running your own outpatient clinics and theatre sessions.  You will also assist with supervision of the registrar and house surgeon.

We are interested in hearing from suitably qualified applicants with the minimum qualification of FRACS and who are eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.

This role was proposed by the Urology department to build succession planning into the medical workforce. The opportunity may exist for the successful candidate to progress to a consultant position at the end of the Fellowship. Additionally, it is expected that the appointment will also provide assistance in maintenance of the transplant service.
